Slow Days and Starry Night Skies
Travelling to Churchhaven is just perfect for a good old-fashioned road trip. A beautiful little town hidden away in the West Coast National Park, just outside the Postberg Flower Reserve, it’s a whole new world waiting to be explored.
A little bit of island living with the blue water and white sands, church bells ring every Sunday to signify the end of a week, seclusive and tranquil surroundings with incredible beauty and history.
The entire Churchhaven region is totally stripped from noise and light pollution, where you only hear the ocean and wildlife.
Environmentally sustainable, off the grid cottages are in complete harmony with the environment.
Our Cottage Designed For You To Experience Extra TLC
Imagine slow days, turquoise waters, a classically styled Fisherman’s cottage with magical sunsets and pristine views of the azure lagoon. All of this is possible with a stay at the Whalesong Beach Cottage.
Perfect for six adults and four children, the configuration of the two buildings allows for plenty of quiet resting spots for when it’s just you and a book, with distant sounds of family chatter and laughter blending in with the soothing sounds of nature.
This is the best accommodation for nature lovers. Being off the grid is a treat as you can either use the gas hob or BBQ – the fire-pit being a highlight for all to gather around, taking in the beautiful views and peace and quiet. Simple styling adds to the enjoyment of our guests.
A Taste of Heaven in Our Opinion
Experience the West Coast like a local, with new discoveries around every corner. The West Coast National Park protects 32% of South Africa’s saltmarshes and the birds benefit from this greatly…the Knot, Sanderling, Little Stint, Ruff, Marsh, Terek and Curlew are just a few to mention.
The West Coast has the finest coastal wetland areas in South Africa, rich in bird life and a high diversity of fynbos and other plant life.
Talk to locals about their culture and history of the area to gain deep insight and have fun along the way.
