About the West Coast National Park

The West Coast National Park (WCNP) stretches from Yzerfontein to Langebaan and offers a variety of activities such as game sighting, spring wildflowers, whale watching and birding. Guests can also enjoy bucket list accommodation options.

The WCNP is situated approximately 90km North of Cape Town just off R27 coastal road, at the edge is the Langebaan Lagoon with white sand beaches and turquoise waters, breath-taking views that you must experience for yourself.

Kraalbaai Langebaan

In 1985 the area was named Langebaan National Park and the name later changed to West Coast National Park in 1988. Learn more about the fascinating history of the WCNP.

Wetlands

“The initial purpose of the park area was to protect the key conservation areas of the Langebaan Lagoon and associated wetlands as well as the offshore islands in Saldanha Bay. The management focus has since broadened to include the terrestrial surroundings as representative sites of the ecosystem of the West Coast Region.” - WCNP website.
